Pakistan turns to Japan for succor from energy crisis
Eager for Japanese investment in energy sector.
Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan would like to encourage greater Japanese investments, especially in overcoming a persistent energy shortage hobbling Pakistan.
Aziz thanked Japan for its ongoing assistance in various social, educational and health projects, saying that Pakistan considered Japan a great friend and strong development partner.
Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Minoru Kiuchi was recently in Pakistan and met with Aziz to discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues.
The visiting Japanese official briefed the adviser on Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's policies, particularly in trade and economy.
