NHPC gets approval for Tawang projects
The Central Electricity Authority has approved NHPC's 600 MW Tawang-I and 800 MW Tawang-II Projects in Arunachal Pradesh.
Environment clearances have also been accorded by the Union Environment and Forest Ministry for both these projects, an National Hydroelectric Power Corporation communique said.
NHPC has reported 27.93 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 2,771.77 crore during 2011-12 compared to year-ago period.
It registered sales turnover of Rs 5,509.65 crore against Rs 4,046.59 crore last year, it said.
The Centre has allowed NHPC to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of power through conventional and non-conventional sources in India and abroad.
