Mahagenco invites bids for 3,300 coal-based power plant
Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd has invited bids through a joint venture for setting up a 3,300 MW coal based thermal power plant.
It will be located near Dondaicha in the state of Maharashtra, .
A separate JV company will be incorporated for developing, constructing and operating the Dondaicha TPP on Build, Own, Operate basis.
In the JVC, the selected bidder will be allowed to hold 74% equity whereas Mahagenco's equity contribution will be 26%, including the free equity offered to the state-run utility by the selected bidder.
Mahagenco aims to ensure that 100% power generated from the TPP is supplied to Maharashtra distribution company , at the lowest tariff as approved by the regulator, so as to retain all benefits of supply of coal from the captive coal block.
A total of 352 ha out of 946.19 ha hland as been purchased.
