China Longyuan wins two wind power projects in South Africa
Projects located in North Cape Province. China Longyuan Power has been awarded bids for two wind power projects totaling 244 MW by the Department of Energy, South Africa under the third round of the South African government's Renewable Energy Procurement Program.
The projects will be jointly developed by China Longyuan Power, Mulilo Renewable Energy and Black Community Company. They are the 100 MW De Aar Phase I and 144 MW De Aar Phase II North District wind power projects.
Both will feature 67 and 96 wind turbines of 1.5 MW each, respectively, produced by Guodian United Power. Theprojects will supply their output to the Eskom electricity network.
