BHEL's laxity causes delay in commissioning 2 thermal power projects
BHEL has come under the scanner yet again for delaying the implementation of two thermal projects in Uttar Pradesh.
These are the 500 MW Harduaganj extension and 500 MW Parichha extension.
At a time when the power-starved state of Uttar Pradesh cannot afford to have any delayed projects, BHEL's laxity on completing works as scheduled only makes it tougher to bridge the power demand-supply gap in the state.
The 250 MW unit-6 of Parichha project is still in troubled waters over the delay in construction of the new chimney. Once the chimney is made available, the developer will re-schedule the power evacuation activities.
Meanwhile, unit-9 of the Harduaganj thermal power station has been synchronized but is yet to be operational.
Works associated with these projects are in the final stages.
