BHEL gets deal for 500 MW Madhya Pradesh thermal unit
NTPC has placed a Rs 1,143 crore order with BHEL for supply and installation of the main plant package at a 500MW thermal power unit in Madhya Pradesh.
The scope of work under the contract includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the steam generator and steam turbine generator along with the associated auxiliaries and controls and instrumentation.
The 500 MW unit is being added to the Vindhyanchal super thermal power station as part of the mega power project policy of the central government.
The unit will push, the cumulative generating capacity of the power plant to 4,760 MW .
This translates into roughly 12 MU of electricity that will be added to the power grid everyday.
