Alstom to provide 2 HRSG units for power plant in Thailand
It's a deal worth nearly €10m.
In a release, Alstom signed a contract worth close to €10 million with CTCI Corporation to supply 2 Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) units for the 120 MW Thai Oil Block 2 power plant, located in Thailand.
Alstom’s HRSG technology offers best-in-class reliable design and maintainability, operational flexibility (Unique Optimised for Cycling and Constructability, OCC™), reduced emissions, and high quality standards based on extensive global experience. Its single harp design is well-known for its world-class cycling capabilities.
“This new contract reflects CTCI’s confidence in Alstom’s technological leadership,” said Juergen Koerner, Vice-President Heat Recovery Steam Generators at Alstom. In the last two years, the group has already signed contracts worth close to €270M with CTCI for the delivery of its Air Quality Control Systems.
Energy requirements in Thailand have increased along with GDP, which is projected to reach 4.9% in 2014. The country has recently put in place about 15 Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for small power plants that require energy and steam for various industrial projects. All these plants are required to comply with Thailand’s National Energy Policy and Development Plan which aims at reducing the environmental impact resulting from energy and industrial operations. Thai Oil has been granted Environmental Impact Assessment approval by the Thai government.
