Vietnam installs first grid-connected solar network
Vietnam hopes to generate 18,000 KW annually with its first grid connected solar system .
The network, installed on the roof of the Ministry of Industry and Trade office will help to save roughly US$612 in power bills for the office.
Mr. Stefan Mappus, Governor of Baden - Württemberg and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Duong Quang inaugurated the grid connected solar system on the rooftop of MOIT’s building. The ceremony had the attendance of representatives from more than 50 leading German companies and representatives from related departments of the MOIT.
It not only marked a milestone in the relationship between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany but also introduced the leading renewable energy technology of Germany in Vietnam.
The grid connected solar project is implemented as part of the grid connected solar panel development program in some countries in the world. This is an initiative of the German Energy Agency launched in 2004 with the support of the German Government to increase the use of renewable energy and ensure energy security and environment protection.
To prepare for the installation, Vietnamese technicians engaged in a training course directly delivered by German experts.
