Taiwan to hike feed-in tariff rates by 9.09% in 1H2018
This will be for rooftop solar installations up to 20kW.
Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) unveiled an announcement that it is increasing feed-in tariff rates by 9.09%. The FiT rate now for small scale solar installations up to 20kW for the first half of 2018 is NT$5.8744 (US$0.202)/kWh.
The country is turning to incentives scheme as a way to boost PV capacity despite spatial challenges via increased incentives for owners to open up rooftops to its Green Energy Roofs project.
On top of the increased FiT rate, project participants will also get a 3% markup and a 6% markup for users of high performance PV modules.
FiT rates will be trimmed for larger installations as those with 21kW to 100kW will get a rate of NT$4.7906 (US$0.165)/kWh and those beyond 100kW up to 500kW will get NT$4.4564 (US$0.153)/kWh.
