Sinopec and TotalEnergies sign strategic cooperation

They will work on areas including oil and gas, and new energy.

Sinopec and TotalEnergies signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Paris to bolster partnerships in various business areas.

Sinopec Chairman Ma Yongsheng and TatalEnergies Chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanné entered the agreement.

The partnership will cover several areas including oil and gas development, liquified natural gas value chain, refining and chemicals, engineering and trading, and new energy.

Ma said the partnership will also explore low-carbon energy cooperation such as sustainable aviation fuel, green hydrogen, and carbon capture utilisation and storage, amongst others.
