Offshore Energy to develop $5.9b offshore wind project in Australia
It could power around 1.2m homes.
Australian renewable project developer Offshore Energy plans to develop a large offshore wind project, "Star of the South", which would consist of as many as 250 wind turbines off Gippsland in Victoria, Australia, according to Enerdata.
"The A$8bn (US$5.9bn) project could generate enough power to supply 1.2 million homes and avoid the emission of 10.5 MtCO2/year. Offshore Energy plans to conduct the feasibility study and testing phase over the next three years and is 'in advanced discussions' with international and local investors," Enerdata said.
