Japan spearheads regional efforts to build Asian smart community
The Japan government already sent several missions to China, Malaysia and Vietnam for smart community development and guess where the next stop is?
The Japan government now heads to Indonesia this month.
“We already dispatched special missions to some ASEAN countries. Besides, we are planning to have another missions for Indonesia this November,” said Takuya Kimura, a representative of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry during the Singapore International Energy Week.
“In Malaysia, on our special missions, we have received request about smart community development for new planned urban cities from Malaysia government. The other, in Vietnam for Hi-tech Park, in China for eco-city, and in Indonesia for industrial parks or islands,” he added.
According to Mr. Kimura, the Japanese government aims to spearhead in regional initiatives toward realizing smart communities in East Asia and ASEAN countries but it also hopes for wider cooperation from the American and European nations and the involvement of a wide range of private companies.
“The Japanese government and Japanese private sector continue these efforts with a certainty, we want to go ahead with deploy of smart community,” he said
