J-Power upgrades Tomamae Winvilla Wind Farm
It was upgraded to eight wind turbines with 4,300 kW output.
J-Power wind power subsidiary J-Wind Co., Ltd. finished the renovations for the New Tomamae Winvilla Wind Farm and started commercial operations on 20 October 2023.
Located in Tomamae Town, Hokkaido, the wind farm upgraded to eight wind turbines and an improved generation performance capable of a 4,300 kW output. It is the first wind-based facility to begin operations within the J-Power group and one of the largest in Japan.

With the resume of operations for the New Tomamae Winvilla Wind Farm, wind power generation from J-Power has led to an overall output of 766,192 kW, stretching on 29 sites (21 operating, two being renovated, four under construction and two under facility replacement). The nine sites located in the Hokkaido Prefecture have now generated 210,682 kW.
Through their Blue Mission 2050 instituted last February 2021, J-Power is continuing on their initiative to update older equipment, improve on their wind power generation and achieve sustainable development for more carbon-neutral operations.
