India’s Tata Power to raise up to 60% renewables capacity by 2025

The Indian power electric utility, Tata Power, plans to raise the share of renewables in its power mix to 50% to 60% by 2025 through its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd.

According to a report from Enerdata, Tata Power targets 15 gigawatts (GW) of renewables capacity by 2025 and 25 GW by 2030.

The report further statedthat the company has a domestic capacity of 12.8 GW from May 2021, of which 4.1 GW at the Mundra first Ultra Mega Power Project, a supercritical coal-fired power plant, as well as around 3.8 GW of renewables including hydropower.

Tata also has 480 megawattsabroad.
