Another Philippine wind farm to rise

This one in Guimaras island in the Visayas region.

Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation or TA Oil said it has invested over US$2.7 million to fund a 54 wind energy project in Guimaras, an island off the southeast coast of Panay Island.

TA Oil said a wholly owned subsidiary, Trans-Asia Renewable Energy Corporation, is undertaking the Guimaras wind project.

TA Oil is poised to double its power capacity to 400 MW in the next few years upon completion of the Guimaras wind project and two others: a new 135 MW clean coal power plant in Batangas province and an integrated 20 MW geothermal project, also in Batangas.

TA Oil said the Guimaras project is covered by Wind Energy Service Contract (WESC) No. 2009-10-009.
