Suzlon crosses 150 MW capacity mark in Andhra Pradesh

Suzlon Group crossed 150 MW of installed wind energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh by the end of 2012.

It installed over 115 MW over the last nine months, accounting for 60 per cent of the total installations of 190 MW over the same period in the state.

The company has contributed 233 million units of electricity to the state grid at the end of 2012. The cumulative installed capacity by the company will accrue an offset of approximately 266,085 tons in C02 emissions; equivalent of planting 22 million trees every year.

Andhra Pradesh marked a major milestone in its drive to create a sustainable energy mix by crossing a cumulative of 470 MW of wind installations in 2012.

Suzlon started its journey in Andhra Pradesh with a 7.5 MW project for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthaham in 2003-04. Today Suzlon's customers in the state include major companies like Mytrah Energy, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and NALCO.
