Philippines' SN Aboitiz renews power supply deals
SN Aboitiz Power Inc. renewed separate power supply agreements with three electric cooperative-customers in northern Luzon.
These are Ifugao Electric Cooperative, Isabela 2 Electric Cooperative, and Quirino Electric Cooperative.
The duration will be longer at five years.
“The PSAs are continuation of the three-year contracts signed in 2009,” the company has emphasized; adding that the extended supply deals will take effect on December 26, 2012 until December 25, 2017.
It expounded that the terms will include time-of-use rates and supply will be drawn from the company’s 360-megawatt Magat hydropower facility in Isabela.
SNAP president and chief executive officer Emmanuel Rubio has indicated that the contract renewals are manifestation of the company’s commitment to continually serve the power needs of its electric cooperative-partners, which in turn, will also “ensure the stable supply of electricity to our host communities.”
The electric cooperatives indicated that they are happy over the fact that they will be drawing supply from a renewable energy resource.
