Joint venture formed for Indonesian geothermal project

International Power, PT Supreme Energy and Marubeni has signed a joint venture agreement to build the 200MW Rantau Dedap geothermal project in South Sumatra Province, Indonesia.

Supreme Energy recently won the concession tender and PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap securing the geothermal mining licence for the same project.

PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap will negotiate the power purchase agreement with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara to sell the electricity from the geothermal resource before commencing exploration activities and construction.

The Rantau Dedap geothermal project is a part of the Indonesian Government's second 10,000MW accelerated electricity development programme.
