India's CEA approves Gujarat's request of gas allocation flexibility
India's CEA has backed Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd`s request for flexibility of gas allocation to four of its power stations.
The power stations concerned are the 375 MW Utran-I, the 112 MW Dhuvaran-II, the 135 MW Utran-II and the 107 MW Dhuvaran-I.
GSECL has been struggling with low quantities of gas being supplied to it by Reliance Industries Ltd. It claims that the four power plants in question have not even been receiving adequate quantities of gas.
However, recognizing the fact that there is a dearth of gas, the company had accordingly requested for something more reasonable-- flexibility to transfer the gas quantity from one station to the other.
The Central Electricity Authority said that flexibility of utilization of gas in this case would result in greater efficiencies, and has therefore requested Ministry of Power to take up the matter with the petroleum ministry.
