Emerson control system to be utilized at Indonesian coal-fired plant
A new 660MW supercritical power plant in Adipala, Indonesia will be installed with Emerson Process Management's Ovation expert control system.
The company will supply a total of 19 Ovation controllers, nine workstations and its EDS enterprise visualization technology to the plant, which was built by China National Technical Import and Export Corporation and scheduled to be commissioned in February 2013.
The control system will perform data acquisition and manage the plant's modulating control, sequence control, furnace safety supervisory, feed water turbine control and electrical control systems.
China National Technical Import and Export I&C Specialist Liu Zhu said the project marks the company's first collaboration with Emerson.
"We based our decision on Emerson's significant experience automating super critical units, their proven technology and their global resources," said Zhu.
