The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has appointed Vivek Chandrakant Tongaonkar as its new director (finance).

ONGC said in a statement that it “is looking forward to Mr. Tongaonkar’s leadership and expertise as he steps into the role of Director (Finance), driving financial excellence and contributing to the organisation's continued growth and success.”

In his 37 years of experience, Tongaonkar held various positions, such as director (Finance) and CFO at ONGC subsidiary Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) from May 2023 till June 2024.

He also held several positions within ONGC, including executive director – chief corporate finance, and CFO.

Tongaonkar’s expertise include project management, accounts, audit, budgeting, treasury and investments, capital investments, commercial and marketing, taxation, JV finance, and strategy.
