Kazakhstan expects significant production cut during Kashagan repair
It will commence on 3 October.
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is expecting a significant reduction in oil production during the scheduled repair of the Kashagan oil field next month.
“During this period, we plan to compensate for the significant volume of overproduction accumulated since the beginning of the year,” the ministry said in a statement.
The energy ministry said delaying the maintenance was one of the options during internal discussions but it was not adopted. The maintenance of the Kashgan field will proceed as scheduled starting 3 October.
Kazakhstan reaffirmed its support for the OPEC+ Agreement and its contribution to a sustainable global oil market.
“Kazakhstan is taking measures to fully fulfil its obligations and comply with the compensation plan submitted to the OPEC Secretariat,” the ministry said.
