India’s power minister pushes for more RE projects in DVC visit

India’s Union Minister of Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal has made his first official visit to the headquarters of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) in Kolkata, wherein he reviewed the performance and challenges being faced by the power generation company, the ministry said in a statement.

One of the highlights was the minister stressing the need for DVC to increase its renewable energy portfolio and bringing more efficiency to its operations. He told the DVC to look into the equity market for fundraising for future growth plans.

The official also emphasised the importance of DVC to the energy security and economic development of India.
