Australia to launch first round of $34.25m clean energy supply chain grants

Australia is opening the first round of applications for the Quad Clean Energy Supply Chain Diversification Program in November 2024.

In a statement, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water said up to $17.12m (A$25m) will be available under the initial round, with grants ranging from $68,493 to $1.71m (A$100k to A$2.5m).

This initiative has a total allocation of $34.25m (A$50m) committed by the Australian Government. This will fund research and development projects and feasibility studies to develop more diverse solar photovoltaic, hydrogen electrolyser, and battery supply chains.

Projects must be delivered as joint projects between Australian and Indo-Pacific organisations, the department said.

A second round of applications is expected to open in the second half of 2025.
