Vietnam and Japan complete first coal policy dialogue
Dialogue promoted cooperation in the use of coal for power generation.
The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy recently held the First Vietnam Japan Coal Policy Dialogue in Hanoi with the General Department of Energy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam to promote a wide range of cooperation from coal exploration and development to the use of coal for power generation.
Vietnam is a source of high quality coal used for steel production. On the other hand, Vietnam wants to introduce Japan's high efficiency coal fired power generation technologies.
Japan requested Vietnam to continue the stable supply of high quality anthracite coal and Vietnam expressed its gratitude for the long standing cooperation from Japan regarding coal.
In addition both countries discussed mutually beneficial cooperation on the exploration and development of anthracite coal in Vietnam the development of relevant human resources and the introduction of coal preparation technology for the maintenance of a stable trade relationship related to anthracite coal.
