Will need US$1 billion to implement several projects.
The Philippine Small Scale Hydro Power Association or PASSHydro is looking for to acquire some US$1 billion in investments to implement projects that could add 250MW to the national grid.
PASSHydro special concerns director Knud Hedeager said a major concern is securing the trust of banks to lend to renewable energy firms. He noted that the finance sector is eager to put in money but not take all the risks.
The association will hold a two-day Philippine Hydropower Summit 2013 starting March 14 to discuss financing concerns with investors, regulators and developers.
