Philippines, EU hold energy meeting
Meeting in Manila discusses initiatives on energy efficiency.
The Philippines’ Department of Energy in partnership with the European Union held a second EU-Philippines Meeting with the theme “Energy Efficiency to Boost Economic Growth.”
Ambassadors from EU member states to the Philippines, officials from different government agencies and leaders and heads from the academe, industry, private sector, and civil society participated in the meeting.
The event was part of the EU’s Switch policy support component that promotes energy efficiency and conservation programs, and clean energy and green growth policies in the Philippines through a US$4.2 million grant to the government.
The first EU-Philippines meeting on energy held last year focused on the issue of Renewable Energy and set the scene for future cooperation on energy between the Philippines and the EU.
