Chinese wind turbine maker Ming Yang Wind Power Group Ltd will develop an offshore wind farm for China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group.
Ming Yang has signed a deal with CGN to co-develop wind projects, with a particular focus on an offshore wind farm project called Golden Bay in Jieyang, Guangdong province.
It said the partnership with CGN is strategically important for it to establish a leading position in offshore wind power development in China
The partners will also co-develop onshore and offshore wind farms in Fujian province; work together on solar projects and promote overseas market opportunities. They will also establish a renewable energy fund, and cooperate in research and development.
Ming Yang said last June that it saw offshore wind in southern China as central to its business strategy, following the approval of two projects off Guangdong that are to use its turbines.
