Japan to help build nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan
Both countries sign an agreement that could pave the way for more nuclear plants in the future.
Japan Atomic Power Company and Marubeni Corporation have signed an agreement with Kazakhstan to assist in development of nuclear energy in that country.
Representatives from the Japanese company and the Kazakhstan national nuclear center have signed the agreement to this effect in Tokyo. Japan said it was ready to help Kazakhstan training the personnel who will operate the nuclear plant. Kazakhstan is planning to build several nuclear power stations after 2020.
Japan and Kazakhstan also agreed on investment cooperation as Tokyo is looking for access to energy resources and minerals.
