IAEA probe team to investigate radioactive water leak at Fukushima

Massive buildup of radioactive water a dangerous problem.

The International Atomic Energy Agency will send a team of nuclear experts to Japan in the autumn to investigate the radioactive water leak at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

IAEA is concerned the massive buildup of radioactive water at Fukushima was a problem that needed to be solved quickly. Plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Company has failed to manage the accumulation of radioactive water at the plant since the nuclear crisis began more than two years ago.

Recently it admitted that 300 tons of highly radioactive water had leaked from a storage tank, some of which could have flowed into the Pacific Ocean.
