China's clean-energy usage on the rise
Less reliant on fossil fuels.
Statistics from the State Electricity Regulatory Commission revealed that the consumption of clean-energy-generated electricity has increased in China.
China's 810.2 billion kilowatt-hours consumption of electricity generated by clean energy sources in the first ten months of 2012 accounted for 20.4 percent of the country's total on-grid power during the period.
The share represents an increase of 3.6 percentage points from the ratio logged at the same time last year.
In October, electricity generated from clean energy sources surged 48.4 percent year-on-year to 92.7 billion kwh.
As of the end of last month, China's hydropower generation capacity added 10.35 million kwh. Wind generation capacity added 7.17 million kwh, according to the commission.
