Dongping Hydropower Project receives emission reduction

The 72MW CPI Dongping Hydropower Project in Hunan Province successfully received the issuance of emission reductions on 28 July 2011.

207,044 tons of reductions were issued this time, equivalent to reducing the same amount of CO2 emission resulting from burning 77,000 tons of standard coal. Sales revenue of Euro 1.85 million is expected for CPI.

Dongping Hydropower Project is the first CDM registration completed by Beijing-based Carbon Asset Operation & Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary to CPI CPCEC. The project itself is constructed and operated by CPI Wuling Power Co., Ltd., and Carbon Asset Co., Ltd. is responsible for its CDM application, monitoring and issuance.

After the successful CDM registration on 12 February 2008, Dongping Hydropower Project received 130,000 tons and 160,000 tons of reduction issuance respectively on 24 February 2009 and 29 April 2010.
