China supporting RE projects worldwide
Has invested US$40 billion over the past 10 years.
The World Resources Institute said China has supported 124 solar and wind energy projects worldwide. These projects are located in 33 countries, most of which are developing countries.
It noted that the investments from China in the renewable energy sector are on the rise. China is expected to continue supporting renewable energy within its own borders and projects in other countries.
The U.S. has attracted much of China’s investments in renewable energy. China, however, has also shown strong interest in emerging renewable energy markets like South Africa and Ethiopia.
