China investigates former head of firm assigned to clean Beijing air
"Severe violations" are being probed.
According to Bloomberg, China is investigating Lu Haijun, the former chairman of a company designated to help clean up record-breaking air pollution in the country’s capital, along with other leading cities.
"Lu is the former chairman of state-owned Beijing Energy Investment Holding Co., which invests and finances electric power construction for the city. He is suspected of “severe violations” of discipline, according to a statement on the website of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection posted Friday," Bloomberg reported.
