IndianOil bags the prestigious ‘Data Initiative of the Year Award’ at Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2022

Indian Oil Corporation being bestowed upon with the prestigious ‘Data Initiative of the Year Award’ at the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2022, testifies the company’s growing digital prowess in the oil and gas sector.

The digital transformation portfolio of IndianOil has picked up rapid pace and efficiency in a short span of time. IndianOil has taken up a massive data transformation exercise under the banner of an enterprise-wide Data Management Platform (DMP). Acting as a single source of truth along with driving integrated analytics use cases, DMP enables a centralised control of all new data access requests, thereby enhancing workforce productivity, and reducing data errors. It ingests data from over 50 varied data sources across the IT and OT network of IndianOil.

Among key developments of DMP, multiple OT and IT data sources have been integrated with the platform. Also robust data pipelines ensure that data flows from the OT data sources to the DMP in the IT network securely and consistently.

Mr Manish Grover, Executive Director (Strategic IS & IS), Refineries headquarters, IndianOil said, “This data initiative has made a visible impact at the grassroots level and is paving the way to serve as the backbone for organisation-wide data-driven decision-making”.

Successful implementation of DMP ensures processing the data in line with the 5 V’s i.e. Volume, Variety, Value, Velocity, and Veracity. The DMP offers a strong foundation for the development & implementation of diverse value-based initiatives across the organisation.
