South Korea plans power plant project in Jakarta
South Korea is looking to build an environmentally-friendly power plant in Ancol, North Jakarta.
The plant, said South Korean Ambassador Kim Yeong Seon, would have the capability to provide a massive power supply to the city.
“We hope construction can be completed within two or three months. We, as representatives of the South Korean government and residents, are really concerned with urban problems here,” said Kim.
Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that the city and the South Korean group have agreed to start a cooperation with the revitalization of Ciliwung River in Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, in addition to the improvement of the railway system in Greater Jakarta.
The power plant project was inserted during the talks.
