JSW Energy unit bags 300-MW wind-solar hybrid project

This increased the parent firm’s generation capacity to 16.7 GW.

JSW Neo Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has received the letter of awards from NTPC Limited for the setting up of a 300-megawatt (MW) wind-solar hybrid power project.

In a bourse filing, JSW Energy said this was awarded after a tariff-based competitive bid invited for setting 1,000 MW Inter State Transmission System-connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Projects (NTPC-Tranche-VI).

This recent capacity award increased its total locked-in generation capacity to 16.7 gigawatts (GW), including 2.6 GW of hybrid capacity.

The company expects its installed generation capacity to reach 10 GW by the end of fiscal year 2025, up from 7.5 GW currently.

JSW Energy aims to reach 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy storage by 2030. Of its 16.7 GW of locked-in capacity, 7.5 GW are operational, and 2.3 GW are under construction. It also has 4.2 GWh of energy storage and is committed to carbon neutrality by 2050.
