JERA, PTT ink MOU for hydrogen and ammonia supply chain dev’t
This will boost Thailand’s decarbonisation efforts.
Japan’s JERA and Thailand’s state-owned petroleum firm PTT Public Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the development of a hydrogen and ammonia supply chain for the Southeast Asian country.
In a statement, the parties said the MOU will include the evaluation of the feasibility of ammonia cracking technology to bring hydrogen to Thailand and consider jointly developing hydrogen/ammonia upstream business and investment opportunities.

The partnership will contribute to Thailand’s plan to become carbon neutral by 2050 and achieve net zero by 2065.
PTT also plans to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 in line with Thailand’s National Energy Plan, whilst JERO also has its net-zero emissions plan for 2050.
