J-Wind Kaminokuni activates 43 MW wind farm in Hokkaido
The power plant started construction in June 2019.
J-Wind Kaminokuni, a subsidiary of Electric Power Development Co. (J-POWER) has started the operations of the Kaminokuuni No. 2 Wind Farm in Hokkaido.
In a statement, J-POWER said the project is composed of ten wind units made by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy with a rated output of 4,300 kilowatts (kW) each.
However, the total output for the power plant will be limited to 41,532 kW.

The operation of the new power plant brings J-POWER’s wind power generation business to 28 sites, of which 23 are in operation, two are under construction, and three are planning facility replacement.
These projects have a total combined output capacity of around 755.69 megawatts (MW).
Meanwhile, the company’s nine sites in Hokkaido Prefecture that are in operation have a capacity of 210.68 MW.
