Chinese firm to co-invest in Indonesian power plants

A cooperation between Indonesian and Chinese companies.

The cooperation is geared towards the development of the solar power plants in the eastern part of Indonesia.

PT 1945 Nuswantara Investama President Director Romy Soekarno of Indonesia and e Fire Energy Director John Liu of China signed the agreement, witnessed by Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia Imron Cotan.

In the Memorandum of Understanding both sides agreed to develop ecogreen renewable energy in Indonesia, particularly in the eastern part of Indonesia. The project would be developed with a 10 MW capacity using solar energy technology.

Both sides also agreed to follow up on the MoU with a technical cooperation and exchange of information on the planned cooperation project.

Soekarno said with an investment worth US$40 million, the two companies would develop solar-powered energy plants in various parts of Indonesian eastern region. In the first phase, the plant would be built in the Indonesian tourist resort island of Bali.
