TTC Group launches Vietnam's largest solar plant
The 49MW plant is expected to supply 103 million kWh per year and power 47,000 families.
The TTC Group and Gia Lai Electricity JSC (GEC), a member of the TTC Group, opened the 49MW TTC Krông Pa solar power plant in Krông Pa District, the second plant in the Gia Lai Province and the largest in the country.
According to an announcement, a total of $60m was invested in the plant, which is built on 70.2ha of hilly land in Chư Gu Commune and located next to Highway 25, about 131km from Pleiku City.
After nine months of construction, the solar power plant was put into operation on 4 November. It is expected to supply the national electricity system with a capacity of 103 million kWh per year to meet demand for about 47,000 families.
About 209,100 solar panels absorb the sun’s radiation and convert it into electricity for the national grid.
In October, the TTC Group and GEC also opened the 35 MW Phong Điền solar power plant in Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, the first solar power plant in Việt Nam.
From now until mid-2019, four solar power plants owned by TTC and its affiliated companies will be put into operation, said TTC Group chairman Đặng Văn Thành.
