Tohoku Electric restarted the operation of its No. 2 power generator at its thermal plant in the city of Akita after replacing a cracked pipe connecting the boiler to the turbine.
The 350,000-kilowatt generator was shut down after steam was found leaking through the crack. Regular operation
was resumed after replacing the pipe and having confirmed its safety.
