PLN starts supplying electricity through specially-built power station
PLN has started supplying electricity to Hankook in Bekasi, West Java, through a 150 kV power station, specially built for the tire maker.
“PLN is ready to supply electricity for businesses and industries. We can set up a power station in less than a year, which therefore allows industries to begin their commercial operations faster,” says PLN Java-Bali operational director Ngurah Adnyana.
PLN and Hankook signed an agreement for an electricity supply of 60 mega volts amperes for 20 years. The deal’s value hit Rp 5.5 trillion or US$598.58 million.
He added that for Bekasi, PLN would provide a total of 1,600 megawatts, while in Java and Bali capacity would reach 30,000 MW with a peak burden of only 20,000 MW.
