India issues selection request for green ammonia production
The 539,000 green ammonia production per annum will be supplied to fertiliser firms.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India issued a request for selection (RfS) to pick green ammonia producers through cost-based competitive bidding for the production of 539,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually.
In a statement, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said the request is under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Programme of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
The RfS will be through e-bidding followed by an e-Reverse Action process.
The ministry added that the green ammonia will be supplied to fertiliser companies.
It added that the mission was launched to decarbonise the economy and reduce the dependence on fossil fuel imports and for India to lead in green hydrogen.
Under the SIGHT Programme, the ministry allocated around 412,000 metric tonnes per annum of green hydrogen production capacity and 1.5 gigawatts of electrolyser manufacturing capacity per year.
